Mission Spiritus Antarctica accomplished!

With a combined age of a just under century and a quarter, former Royal Marines Alan Chambers MBE and Dave Thomas reached the geographic South Pole at on 19th January exhausted but elated, having been on the polar ice for 58 days battling some of the most extreme conditions on earth.

A Musical Celebration

For their Coronation Concert at Portsmouth Cathedral on the 11th May 2023, the Royal Marines Association Concert Band joined forces with the Band of HM Royal Marines School of Music and the Portsmouth Grammar School Brass Band.

Iconic Iron Maiden drummer to rock MFM!

Audiences at this year’s 52nd Mountbatten Festival of Music (MFM) at the Royal Albert Hall in March are in for an extra special treat when global drumming icon of Iron Maiden fame, Nicko McBrain, takes to the stage to join The Massed Bands of His Majesty’s Royal Marines.

Mission Spiritus Antarctica Update

Two former Royal Marines, Alan Chambers MBE and Dave Thomas have set off to ski unassisted to the South Pole. This project will raise much needed funds for RMA – The Royal Marines Charity campaign ‘Mission Critical’ with the aim of flying their flag at the bottom of the world no later than 14th January 2024, a fitting start to the RM360 year of fundraising.

Guildhall Dinner boost for The Royal Marines Charity

RMA – The Royal Marines Charity raised over £850,000 from its prestigious sold-out Guildhall Dinner in London on 8th November 2023, with pledges of support still being received.

Attended by over 500 guests including dignitaries, corporate and individual supporters, serving and veteran Royal Marines, the annual Dinner is the Charity’s flagship fundraising event and the monies raised are used towards providing lifelong support to the Royal Marines Family.

Shooting stars 

Earlier this month, another very successful Royal Marines Browning Charity Clay Shoot took place at the Dunkeld House Hotel in Perthshire. In glorious weather, the 2023 event was well supported by County Clays shoot ground and a number of major sponsors.

Royal Marine to run 500 miles and climb the UKs three highest peaks

This Sunday (13th August), Ben Clough – a Royal Marines Physical Training Instructor at Commando Training Centre Royal Marines – will begin a gruelling challenge with a ‘twist’; not just climb all three of the highest mountain peaks in the UK, but also run the entire distance between them from Scotland to Wales, all within 10 days!

Commando Training Challenge 2023

Forty-three ‘wannabe’ Royal Marines Commandos turned up to be well and truly put through their paces by a Royal Marines’ PTI (Physical Training Instructors) team at this year’s sold-out Commando Training Challenge at Commando Training Centre Royal Marine. At the same time as ticking off this extreme ‘dream challenge’ from their bucket lists, they also raised over £18,000 for RMA – The Royal Marines Charity.
