Here to Offer a Helping Hand

RMA – The Royal Marines Charity is your charity, and we are here to offer support for you and your family through service and beyond. While members of the Corps family can reach out to us any time of year, we recognise the winter months and the run-up to Christmas can cause a build-up of emotions, with remembrance services having just past and Christmas festivities fast approaching.

50 Miles for 50 Days

As a celebration of my 50th birthday I thought I’d set myself a challenge. After careful consideration I committed to a mission. I intended to cycle 50 miles every day for 50 days around the Devon roads finishing on my 50th birthday.

Harvey’s Story

Harvey’s career as a Royal Marines Officer was cut short due to an injury in training, which lead to him being medically discharged. After losing his dream career, Harvey also found he was missing the direction and camaraderie the Corps provided.

RMA – The Royal Marines Charity facilitated for Harvey to participate in the life-changing veteran program onboard a 72-foot yacht with CatZero. The programme is specially designed to provide veterans with the skills and friendships to help transition from the military in a hands-on environment.

Finlay’s Story

A grant of £1,500 from RMA – The Royal Marines Charity towards a specialist orthopaedic bed and mattress has helped ease the pain at night of a 38 year-old former Royal Marine from Glasgow.

A shelter from the storm

The barrage of anti-social behaviour week-in and week-out that included threats, abuse, intimidation and at one point physical violence, was becoming too much to bear for Alex, a 65-year old former Royal Marine with physical and mental health issues.

Peter’s Story

Serving in the Royal Marines is one of the toughest jobs in the Armed Forces and theatres of conflict such as Iraq and Afghanistan continue take their toll on many of those still serving.
As a senior NCO with almost 25 years’ service already under his belt, Peter is just one.
He has complex mental health needs but is successfully battling through with the support of experienced military medical teams..

Paul’s Story

Suffering from complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and struggling to connect with people in the easy way that had always been so natural to him, Paul – a former senior NCO with the Royal Marines– was finding it tough to fit back into society after leaving the Corps.
