Morgan Motor Company has been handcrafting sports cars since 1909 and is one of the world’s pre-eminent coachbuilders. Pioneering its unique blend of traditional craftsmanship and modern technology, every Morgan is handmade to order.
The historic home of Morgan is at Pickersleigh Road in Malvern Link, Worcestershire. This is the only place
in the world where Morgan cars are built. Steeped in history, the hallowed red brick buildings are home to
one of the most unique automotive production facilities in the world.
Morgan sports cars are hand crafted using three core elements: ash, aluminium, and leather. Every car is
entirely unique, built to the highest standards by passionate craftsmen and women, whose skills are handed
down through generations and perfected over a lifetime, bringing together heritage, innovation, and cutting-edge technology.
Morgan’s model line-up comprises Super 3, Plus Four and Plus Six. All models are characterised by their
driving experience, and regardless of the model chosen, every journey in a Morgan is an adventure.
Morgan employs around 250 people at its Malvern factory. Morgan distributes via a network of c.70 dealers
globally, with export markets representing around 70% of production demand annually.

The role
To lead the company’s health and safety program. The post holder will act as the company’s expert
advisor on health and safety, coordinating the company’s health and safety action plan. To coordinate,
support and advise the company on all aspects of Health & Safety.

Responsibilities and tasks
• Ensure a safe working environment without the risk to health.
• Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, risk assessments and other documents are
adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated, and communicated.
• Ensure the company meets its statutory obligations in all areas pertaining to health, safety, and
welfare at work.
• Ensure the completion and regular review of risk assessments for all work equipment and
operations.
• Ensure that all accidents and fire incidents are documented, investigated and that recommended
improvements are implemented.
• Ensure all safety inspections are carried out, fire drills and fire alarms are correctly reported,
safety inspections, risk assessments and lone working procedures are managed, and employees
are aware of their responsibilities.
• Co-ordinate the development of health & safety policies, systems of work and procedures.
• Establish a full program of documented health & safety inspections, audits, and checks.
• Manage and devise the agenda for, chair and formulate and distribute minutes for health & safety
meetings. Ensure all resulting actions are completed within deadlines.
• Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health & safety at work legislation and guidance and
communicate relevant changes to the company.
• Provide regular reports to the CoS and CEO on relevant health & safety activities.
• Participate in meetings when required to report on relevant health & safety matters.
• Liaise with suppliers, insurers and solicitors and HSE as required.

Skills, knowledge, experience, and qualifications:

• At least 3 years’ relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing, is essential.
• Automotive experience is desirable.
• ISO9001/14001/45001 knowledge would be preferred.
• Internal auditing experience
• Minimum Level 4 qualification in H&S is essential.
• Working towards full chartered membership of IOSH (currently TechIOSH or GradIOSH).
• Fire risk assessment experience is desirable.
