A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a full-time Senior Digital Engagement Officer in the Digital & Innovation department at SSAFA, the UK’s oldest national tri-service military charity.

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Digital Engagement Officer to join the Digital Content & Engagement workstream to plan and implement various 360 degree online paid advertising campaigns to increase engagement and income across all our digital channels.

You will play a key role in planning and executing day-to-day digital advertising campaigns for online channels, such as paid social media, search, display, and other websites. Your detailed plans will be transparent and informative, and aligned with campaign objectives.

You will take the lead on researching the most effective channels and approaches, maximising the impact, and contributing to our marcomms and fundraising strategy, particularly audience mapping and persona development.

A key role will be to provide an analytical data-driven perspective, monitoring, reporting, and analysing paid campaigns to make improvements and achieve maximum results.

You will bring expertise in tools such as Google Analytics and social media platform reporting, which will feed into existing marketing and communications reports and help the Digital Content & Engagement team develop a complete picture of engagement with its services.

Day-to-day, you will apply excellent copywriting skills and create engaging visual content, as well as oversee the effective moderation of comments on activity.

You will be working closely with the Marketing & Brand, PR, Volunteering, Fundraising and Services teams to plan, tailor, and deliver digital content, campaigns, and communications to reach and engage new and existing audiences, driving growth.

Your role is pivotal in developing and delivering an integrated digital content strategy to support fundraising, volunteering, and broader organisation to raise awareness of the SSAFA brand.

 

About you

To carry out this role successfully, you will have a track record of identifying the best use of digital platforms for paid social, paid search and display advertisements to increase awareness and engagement, which drives the best engagement and response amongst different target audiences

You will have significant experience planning and executing paid digital paid campaigns (search, social and display) and assessing keywords and ad groups to optimise performance.

You will be comfortable creating engaging content for a range of specific audiences. The Senior Digital Engagement Officer will thrive in a strong collaborative and communicative way of working. They will support a small but high performing communications team and bring a systematic approach to their work.

You will have strong project management skills in managing multiple projects ensuring digital engagement objectives are met to maximise income, engagement, and ROI. You will have demonstratable experience understanding of user research, data analytics and user testing methods to make content relevant to audience groups.
