Due to some recent restructuring, we are looking to recruit a new sprayer operator to join
our young and enthusiastic team. This is a key role in a 1200ha modern and dynamic family
business based on the Herts/Essex border that requires acute attention to detail and the
ambition to achieve exacting standards in all conditions.
Your role will predominantly consist of operating a Fendt 828 & 36m Horsch Leeb 8GS sprayer
looking after wheat, beans, borage & sugar beet. You will also operate our Fendt 939 during
the summer and autumn carrying out cultivations and relief drilling using Lemken, Horsch &
Vaderstad equipment. You will work closely with the Assistant Manager and will be
encouraged to walk and liaise regularly with the Agronomist whilst maintaining accurate
records and stock levels.
Other aspects of the role will involve slug pelleting & Avadex spreading using the farm’s Kuhn
AGT, ditching and estate maintenance and a range of workshop related work from basic
maintenance to overhauls.
The successful candidate will ideally have spraying & drilling experience. However, being
resourceful and enthusiastic with a can-do, positive attitude whilst being able to work well
both within a team and independently are more important traits. Whilst any training will be
provided it is expected that the successful candidate will have a depth of RTK & GPS
knowledge, a range of workshop skills as well as PA1, 2 & 4 and Rough Terrain Forklift
certificates.
In return we offer a competitive renumeration package, regular & bespoke training
programmes, annual appraisals, and the opportunity to be involved with the planning and
running of a diverse and busy farming operation. We are a business that encourages our staff
to develop and take ownership of various projects throughout the year.
