Who we are and what we do
We are the Royal Marines’ chosen Charity and we exist to give a lifetime of support to the Royal Marines Family. Our mission is to provide support, advice and friendship to serving and retired Royal Marines, their families, those who aspire to join and those with close links to our Corps
Supporting the Royal Marines Family alongside the health and safety of our staff are our highest priorities. As the advice about COVID-19 develops, we have followed government guidelines for staff based at our offices on Whale Island, at CTCRM and RMB STONEHOUSE and following some modifications in the way we work we will mainly be working from home until further notice. This helps to ensure that we are protecting both our host military communities and staff
We believe that we can continue to support you and our phone lines and emails will continue to operate as usual although the new Welfare Team number is 02393 874663
Need our help?
The restrictions that have been imposed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic have limited the way we undertake some of our normal working practices. For example, home visits have been restricted for us as well as for SSAFA and the RBL. The Grants and Benevolence team are now available on 02393 874663 and they will continue to assess referrals in the normal way through SSAFA or from direct referral to the office (by phone or the ‘Needs Help’ link https://royalmarinesassociation.org.uk/need-our-help/.
We are having to be innovative and it may take a little longer for the team to complete these assessments but we will adapt and overcome in the true Commando Mindset.
We will of course have to prioritise cases that are deemed to be a crisis or in urgent need and we will continue to work with other military partners to expedite support under the restrictions that this virus has imposed. We hope that you will understand that we are doing all we can in this very challenging environment. We believe we can continue to serve you and be here for you, if not in person, certainly by video, email, telephone and messaging, continuing to stay in touch and conduct our day to day business and support in all ways other than face-to-face.WelfareTransition
