Members of our Employment & Education, and Health & Wellbeing teams, returned inspired from RMA – The Royal Marines Charity having had a prominent presence and taken advantage of the enormous networking opportunities at the annual National Transition Event (NTE) hosted by Mission Motorsport (MM). It was held at ‘The Wing’, Silverstone Circuit’s state-of-the-art conference centre in Northamptonshire.
James Cameron, founder and CEO of Mission Motorsport, once again delivered an outstanding event which was addressed by the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, the Rt Hon Johnny Mercer MP and attended by over 1,100 service leavers, veterans and military spouses seeking careers beyond the military.
This year, with some 60 companies exhibiting, the concentration was on MM’s 2023 green agenda in highlighting opportunities within the climate change and sustainability sectors.

These included the likes of Jaguar Land Rover and Stellantis in the Mission Automotive Autohall, reflecting the march towards the UK manufacture of electric vehicles. Mission Automotive is the Armed Forces engagement initiative for the UK’s automotive industry. Delivered by Mission Motorsport – The Forces Motorsport Charity and with the support of the Ministry of Defence, it works in partnership with The Royal Foundation and the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
While those exhibiting in the Mission Renewable Hall showcased new ‘green jobs’ in other industries including those in the rapidly growing offshore wind and deep geothermal energy sectors.. Mission Renewable is the Armed Forces Initiative for the renewable energy sector to help the renewable sector harness the opportunity for skills migration from the veteran community into meaningful, green jobs in the industry whilst addressing the transitional needs of service leavers.
The National Transition Event is an incredibly valuable showcase giving us the opportunity to meet with those in the Corps Family who might be seeking new careers but also to make really useful contacts with many new companies that have the potential to assist with placing our future beneficiaries. We’d like to thank Mission Motorsport for organising such a great event that gets bigger and better each year.”
