Suffering from complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and struggling to connect with people in the easy way that had always been so natural to him, Paul – a former senior NCO with the Royal Marines– was finding it tough to fit back into society after leaving the Corps.

Ex Royal Marine from Wales making history at South Pole

Dave Thomas, a serial adventurer and former Royal Marines Commando from Seven Sisters in South Wales, has arrived in Antarctica at the start of another epic expedition, this time aiming to become the oldest person to ski unsupported from Hercules Inlet to the Geographic South Pole as part of Mission Spiritus Antarctica.

Guildhall Dinner boost for The Royal Marines Charity

RMA – The Royal Marines Charity raised over £850,000 from its prestigious sold-out Guildhall Dinner in London on 8th November 2023, with pledges of support still being received.

Attended by over 500 guests including dignitaries, corporate and individual supporters, serving and veteran Royal Marines, the annual Dinner is the Charity’s flagship fundraising event and the monies raised are used towards providing lifelong support to the Royal Marines Family.

This week we take time to pause and honour all those in the Royal Marines Family who have lost their lives in conflicts around the globe over the past 359 years

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. We will remember them.

It is a stark reminder, too, of those who each day put their lives on the line in the service and defence of our country – and of their families back home – and why they are so deserving of the lifelong support offered by our Charity.
