RMA – The Royal Marines Charity is delighted to have been awarded the Silver Award from the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme, acknowledging our support to those who serve, have served and their families.

The Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) encourages employers to support defence and inspire others to do the same. The scheme encompasses bronze, silver and gold awards for employer organisations that pledge, demonstrate or advocate support to defence and the armed forces community, and align their values with the Armed Forces Covenant.

“RMA-The Royal Marines Charity prides itself on being the Corps’ own association and charity, supporting the whole Corps Family through life. Our being able to offer employment to RM veterans and spouses is a very important part of that commitment. This benefits us because we have team members who understand the Corps Family and share the Corps’ values and ethos, and it benefits them and their families by providing fulfilling employment which they know enables lifechanging support to their own community. It also helps us set an example so we can encourage civilian employers to take on Royal Marines leaving service.

I’m over the moon that we have been recognised with the DERS Silver Award, and am determined to win gold next year!”

Jonathan Ball, Chief Executive, RMA – The Royal Marines Charity

RMA – The Royal Marines Charity is already a proud signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, previously recognised with the Bronze award. The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise made by the nation to ensure those who serve or who have served in the armed forces, and their family, are treated fairly.

Minister for Defence, People and Veterans, Leo Docherty MP added:

“I would like to thank all the organisations who have proven their support for the Defence community during such unprecedented and challenging times.

The vast range of those recognised this year demonstrates how employing the Armed Forces community makes a truly positive and beneficial impact for all employers, regardless of size, sector or location.”
