RMA – The Royal Marines Charity has received a grant from the Gamesys Foundation.

Gamesys Foundation have awarded a grant that will help us provide Addiction and relapse prevention work and mental health support to our serving and Royal Marines Veterans throughout the United Kingdom.

The sector leading work that RMA – The Royal Marines Charity carry out was recognised in the award of this grant particularly, as so many charities require increased support due to the strain that COVID has placed on them.

The Gamesys Foundation is an independent charity organisation created and funded by Gamesys Group. The Foundation is their way of contributing to a cause which will touch so many of us over the course of our lives.

Issues of mental health have long been met with stigma and mistrust within our society, but they believe that change is on the horizon. They, and we, envisage a world in which mental health is treated with the same urgency and compassion as physical health – the Gamesys Foundation is their way of striving towards that dream.

Our project will focus on the support and wellbeing of individuals suffering from mental health issues and substance misuse across the Royal Marines Corps Family. Delivering clinical interventions, awareness training and enabling peer to peer conversation to increase signposting and help those on their road to recovery.

This grant will enable us to continue to offer direct support to our Corps Family, continuing to breakdown the stigmas associated with mental illness, promoting positive mental health to prevent illness and supporting those in crisis to seek help when needed.”
