The Globe & Laurel Magazine has been the Journal of the Royal Marines for over 125 years. Published six times a year, it is essential reading for all members of the Corps Family keeping readers up to date with what is happening in the Royal Marines today.

About Us

The Globe & Laurel Magazine has been in production since May 1892 and in 2017 celebrated it’s 125th Anniversary. The magazine and digital edition are produced by a small dedicated team based in the Royal Marines Corps Secretariat Department on Whale Island in Portsmouth. The Globe & Laurel team dispatch over 11,000 copies worldwide each edition, to keep past, present and future Royal Marines up to date with today’s Corps.

On average the magazine has 88 pages, including reports from all major RM Units, Ships’ Detachments, RM Band Service, Reserves, Cadets and Association Branches, as well as reports on Reunions, families pages, ‘Around the Messes’, and Corps Sport. There are also book reviews, letters and individual features of interest. One of the most popular pages is ‘Where Do You Read Yours?’ a competition which shows readers of the Globe & Laurel photographed reading their copy of the magazine in the most bizarre or far-flung places across the world, so why not send your photo into us of you reading your copy?

Subscriptions

To subscribe to the Globe & Laurel Magazine, download and complete the subscription form at the foot of this page and return it to the G&L office, or give the team a call on 023 9254 7209 – Mon -Thu 8am to 4pm. Following your initial subscription payment, we will be able to set up a Standing Order for your subscription to be paid annually direct from your bank, ensuring you do not miss any future issues. If you require a Standing Order mandate, please indicate this on your subscription form when you send it in or when you speak with the team.

Advertising

Article Submission

To submit an article and/or photos, please send them to: royalsmag@btconnect.com

NOTE: Please do NOT add your photos to a MS Word or text document with your article as this often reduces the image size and lowers the print quality. Images are best sent to us as seperate JPEG or TIFF files, over several emails if they are very large (over 10Mb each).

The Digital Edition

The G&L Digital Edition, available for IOS and Android, offers readers a greater interactive experience while still delivering the same vital Royal Marines Corps Family information that readers have come to expect. The G&L Digital Edition provides enhanced imagery, video clips of the Corps around the globe (when available), a Corps history and reference section, direct web links to a vast array of Royal Marines partners, our charities, supporters and advertisers. The latest version of the App now allows readers to search for people, places or maybe items of kit throughout the Digital Editions. Readers can also download and share imagery and have direct social media links to many of our contributors,advertisers, charity partners and the G&L team via Facebook.
