Paddlers hit the water for the #RMfamily
Over the weekend, we held our first official event in 2021, the London Kayakathon 2021.
This exclusive and unique event saw participants kayak 21 miles through the heart of the City of London, with and alongside serving and former Royal Marines.
Royal Marines and SBS are renowned for being experts in the use of military kayaks. This event provided a unique opportunity to commemorate the bravery of all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure the freedom that we enjoy today.
As you can see from the photos below, entrants took on this challenge on one of the hottest days of the year so far.
Our congratulations and thanks to all paddlers, including our Trustees Lynn Fordham, Keith Breslauer and Mark Robinson! With fundraising amounts still being totalled, we hope £15,000 from this fantastic event will be raised in aid of our charity and the Special Boat Service Association.
