Countrywide is a national company owned by two former Royal Marines, delivering grounds maintenance to thousands of satisfied clients throughout the United Kingdom. We provide a wide range of grounds care and maintenance services to our clients & work in both public and private sectors priding ourselves in our quality services.

You will report to the regional manager and will be responsible for implementing and monitoring all aspects of GM and cleaning works to ensure works are carried out in a timely manner and to the required standards as directed by the CM; and in accordance with the contract specification. Working with the Contracts Manager to Lead, manage and motivate the operational team of Grounds Maintenance operatives.

Working Hours – 06:30 – 15:30

Duties include:

  • Responsive audits to complaint sites which will require travel.
  • Report any missed visits.
  • Liaising with the manager to ensure all PPE requirements are met.
  • Working with the manager and CM to go through the customer list.
  • Assist with quotations by visiting sites and feeding back information to the CM.
  • Assist with recruitment and induction.
  • Ensure daily workload is allocated and completed in the most efficient manner and check quality.
  • Carry out spot audits as directed.
  • Visit customer sites/potential sites to appraise their needs.
  • Assessing job priorities and assigning staff to appropriate job sites.
  • Perform on the tools duties as and where required.
  • Ensure that the team are briefed daily on their tasks, carrying out site specific risk assessments and that they each have the necessary tools, equipment and PPE to perform the tasks in accordance with company procedures and Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Work with the CM to ensure daily productivity targets are met.
  • Programme works with CM in accordance with the contract specification to ensure customer requirements are always fulfilled.
  • Take responsibility for and prioritise escalations, complaints and expressions of dissatisfaction to resolve in a timely and professional manner and within specified and agreed parameters.
  • Proactively participate in and encourage Near Miss and accident reporting by colleagues to promote continuous improvement in health and safety performance and help to pre-empt the circumstances and practices under which injuries might be sustained in future.
  • Carry out Health and Safety checks, including area safety checks.


Skills/experience needed:

 

  • Proven experience of working with the relevant customer group.
  • Be commercially aware with total commitment to customer service and development.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing at all levels.
  • Proficient IT skills (Microsoft Office Suite), as well as effective smartphone user.
  • Demonstrable experience of effectively leading and managing teams.
  • Full Driving License.
  • Comfortable operating in an outdoor environment in all weathers.
  • Previous management / supervisory experience.
  • Dynamic, results-driven, enthusiastic personality.
  • Proven experience of working within a contracting environment – desirable.
  • Proven experience of implementing monitoring systems to ensure team tasks completed to agreed standard and within timescales – desirable.
  • Horticultural knowledge beneficial.
  • PA1, PA6 desirable.
