The Commercial and Industrial Roofer/Cladder is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems and cladding on commercial and industrial buildings. This role requires expertise in working with a variety of roofing materials and systems, as well as proficiency in cladding installation. The Roofer/Cladder works both independently and as part of a team to ensure the completion of projects according to specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Roofing and Cladding Installation:
    • Perform roofing and cladding installations by project specifications, drawings, and industry best practices.
    • Ensure all work is carried out to a high-quality standard, workmanship, and finish.
    • Utilise appropriate tools, equipment, and techniques to complete installations effectively and efficiently.
  1. Material Handling and Storage:
    • Assist with installing, storing, and handling roofing and cladding materials on-site.
    • Ensure that materials are protected from damage and stored safely and organised.
    • Coordinate with the Roofing Site Supervisor and other team members to ensure materials are available for project activities.
  1. Health and Safety:
    • Follow all applicable health and safety regulations and company policies while performing roofing and cladding tasks.
    • Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure all tools and equipment are in good working order.
    • Report any hazards, incidents, or accidents promptly to the Roofing Site Supervisor and take necessary steps to prevent recurrence.
  1. Teamwork and Communication:
    • Work effectively with other team members to complete roofing and cladding tasks efficiently and to a high standard.
    • Communicate any issues or concerns related to project activities with the Roofing Site Supervisor and other team members.
    • Participate in team meetings and training sessions, as required.

  • Show professionalism at all times.
  • Scaffold awareness is preferred but optional.
  • Proficient in Apple software and Microsoft 365.

Salary: £130 – £150 per day

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday – 0800 – 1700

Education:

  • CSCS
  • Working at Height Training
  • Abrasive Wheels Training
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • In-depth knowledge of roofing materials, techniques, and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and requirements.
  • Proficiency in project management software, Microsoft Office Suite and Apple Software.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a commercial roofer/cladder.
  • Has demonstrated effective supervisory skills.
  • Ability to motivate and direct the actions of others.
  • Experience in project costing and planning.
  • Excellent knowledge of roofing techniques and materials.
