HOW THE WELFARE PROCESS WORKS

STEP 1
Tell us what the problem is by filling in our welfare request form or calling 0800 468 1664.

STEP 2
SSAFA is a forces charity that provides a practical, emotional and financial support to anyone who is serving or has ever served and their families.

STEP 3
Where necessary a SSAFA caseworker will come and visit you to assess your needs and will complete an ‘Assessment Form A’. This might sound daunting, but it won’t be a frightening experience – SSAFA are there to help and they need to make sure they have a full picture of your situation to identify which charities can best help you. Without this form, we (and any other charity SSAFA reports to) cannot issue you a grant.

STEP 4
Once we receive the Assessment Form A, we will take the recommended actions.

STEP 5
We can also gauge if there are other services available to you once the SSAFA case is closed – for instance we can assign an RMA Veteran Support Officer to provide follow-up support and care plan.
