Fast access to talking therapy in partnership with NHS veterans services.

“Seeking help is a strength, not a weakness.”

The VMHRP provides bespoke treatment for RM veterans experiencing mental health issues when these cannot be addressed in a timely way by the NHS. The VRP provides time-limited psychotherapy either face to face or on-line in your geographical area with a registered, highly experienced and carefully selected psychologist.

After assessment by one of our clinical managers and an understanding of your history and previous treatment is obtained, you will be carefully matched to a therapist who can best address your most pressing issues and you will collaborate around an achievable treatment plan. We do not usually fund long-term treatment but we will ensure as much as possible, that the psychotherapy sessions will alleviate the worst of your symptoms and address the key underlying causes.

You will need to be registered with your GP and have been unable to obtain NHS treatment before we will refer you under our scheme. We are always happy to discuss treatment options with you and to point you in the right direction towards help within the NHS or other suitable providers.

It is never worth leaving your mental health issues to fester and kid yourself that things are not as bad as they really are. There are many online tools you can start to use now to take the first step towards feeling better. We recommend that you look at Headspace, Combat Stress and fill out the Needs Help Button so that we can point you in the right direction or refer you to one of our VMHRP therapists, if needed. It OK to not feel ok but it is not ok to not do anything about it.
