Alan’s Story

Alan, a former Royal Marine, was tied up in knots and disheartened, drowning under the weight of interminable bureaucracy. He had for many years been unsuccessfully trying to challenge his minimal pension payout following medical discharge due to the hearing loss suffered as a result of his seven years’ service.

Richard – Lourdes Pilgrimage

Thanks to a £900 grant from RMA – The Royal Marines Charity, the opportunity to join the annual International Military Pilgrimage to Lourdes turned into a much more life-changing experience than Richard, a Royal Marine veteran, had ever thought possible.

Clive’s Story

Clive is a proud former Royal Marine from Edinburgh living with a number of service-related injuries that are seriously impacting his everyday life.

He has a bullet fragment in his brain, suffers from memory loss and has been diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Supporting Alcohol Awareness Week

A series of short videos that includes the deeply personal story of a former serving Royal Marines Commando has been made for the Lympstone-based RMA – The Royal Marines Charity in its support of Alcohol Awareness Week (3rd – 9th July 2023) which theme this year is ‘Cost’.

Chamonix 2023 Film

Thirty-two former RM’s joined the trip, including instructors and support team members, some of whom now live in the French Alps and who gave up their time for free to ensure everyone got the most out of their time on the slopes. The group was split into two so each could enjoy a week-long session over the last fortnight of January.

A problem shared

Recently, with no money left to cover their immediate general needs having paid priority bills, Steve approached RMA – The Royal Marines Charity for some help and was awarded £1,000 grant. This is what he had to say.
